SIMON PAUL ADELMANN (published on January 19, 2010)

SIMON PAUL ADELMANN A wonderful light is gone from this world. Simon Paul Adelmann passed away January 15, 2010 at the age of 45. He leaves behind his immediate family in mourning: father Lorin Adelmann, mother Brenda Neal, step-father Tom Neal as well as brothers Albert and Tim (Sigrid), sisters Erica Guzzo (Romano), Jennifer Watson (James). Fondly remembering their Uncle Simon and the stories he told are nephews Benjamin, Cody, Samuel, Roman and Andrew as well as nieces Audrey, Theresa, Susan, Sarah, Hillary and Enza. Simon will also be sorely missed by caring aunts, uncles and cousins in the United States as well as the many friends whom he so generously spent time with here in Manitoba. Simon was a man filled with a generous, kind nature despite traveling a journey full of many unique challenges. Although Simon lived daily with schizophrenia, to the best of his abilities, he made great efforts to be a contributor to society rather than a burden. He looked forward to working regularly at his job as a hardwood flooring mechanic; something he was fiercely proud of. More importantly, Simon loved the Lord and would talk about what he learned in the Bible as he read it cover to cover. Indicative of the promise he was certain of, a scripture verse to remember Simon by would be Daniel 7:18. But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever - yes for ever and ever. A funeral service will be held in his honour Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg. Following the service will be a private interment at the Emerson Cemetery in Emerson, Manitoba. Until we reunite in glory - you were fully loved Simon and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association - Winnipeg Region, 432 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 1Y4.
