JILL TOMLINSON (published on January 20, 2010)

JILL TOMLINSON Mrs. Jill Jilly-Bean Tomlinson (Skene) of Rimbey, Alberta passed away quietly in her sleep at her home on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the age of 53 years. Jill was born in Calgary, Alberta on June 7, 1956. She was a former resident of Lethbridge, Alberta and Peace River, Alberta prior to settling near Rimbey where she had hoped to retire and spend time with her horses. As the child of a military family, Jill travelled the world with her mother and father spending time in France and Germany, and then throughout military bases in Canada with her first husband, Ken Skene. She also served as a Corporal with the Canadian Armed Forces and was stationed in Cold Lake, Alberta where she met her current husband, Garry Tomlinson. Jill went on to become a long-time, faithful employee of the Alberta Government. Her final post was with Alberta Employment and Immigration, where she was a Contract Service Coordinator. Jill was a great proponent of life-long learning and had numerous credentials as a result of her passion for education. Jill will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Garry; her two sons, Darren (Amy) Skene and their children, Kayleigh and Mason of Red Deer, Alberta; and Garrett (Cynthia) Tomlinson and their son, Garrin of Lethbridge; in addition to her niece, Stacey Levi of Calgary; other extended family members and many friends. Jill was predeceased by her parents, Lorne and June Nadon; and her sister, Gail Nadon. A Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Jill's life will be held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Deborah Laing officiating. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer.
