HELEN HOEPPNER (published on January 22, 2010)

HELEN HOEPPNER (nee KLASSEN) 1939 2010 On Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Salem Home, Helen Hoeppner, aged 70 of Morden, MB, was released from her struggle to be embraced in the arms of her Savior. Her family was by her side and, although we grieve at her passing, her peace and the end to her suffering relieve us. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved sweetheart Hank (Henry P.) of Morden, three daughters: Debbie (Noel) Brown, Barb (Deryl) Rampton, Shelly (Terry) Walde and one son Kelly Hoeppner. Also, her grandchildren: Holly and Kristi Rampton, Sherri (Jeff) Hoeppner, Jason (Pam) Nelson, Tara and Amy Brown and one sister Anne Broeren and one brother Jake and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Susanna Klassen (nee Andres), four sisters and two brothers-in-law. Helen was born at home near Canora, SK on November 11, 1939 (Remembrance Day), making it inexcusable for us to forget her birthday. Mom met her sweetheart, Hank when she was living in Morden and they were married on August 17, 1958. Together they had four children who blessed them with six grandchildren. Mom worked outside the home a number of years but her true passion was volunteering. She volunteered on numerous committees, the Hospital Auxiliary, Morden Thrift Shop and BTHC Gift Shop. But, Mom's ultimate pleasure was her volunteer work with Minor Hockey, first with MMH, then PVMH and, just before her retirement due to ill health, with Hockey Manitoba. She was thrilled to be honoured by Hockey Manitoba in 2006 as Volunteer of the Year. Special joys included camping with Dad and spending time with her grandchildren who miss her already. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Morden EMMC with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Helen's family wish to thank the caring and compassionate staff (her friends ) at Salem Home for the loving and personal care she received from the day she took up residence and especially for walking so compassionately beside her and us as Mom made her final journey. Your amazing support was so needed and is so deeply appreciated. We also want to thank the staff at BTHC medical ward for the care she received there. To everyone who visited her at Salem, God bless you! If friends so desire, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Assoc. (200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6) or the Salem Foundation Inc. 165 15th St. Winkler R6W 1T8. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden In care of arrangements, 822-4755
