JAMES CLINTON ORR (published on January 23, 2010)

JAMES CLINTON ORR With deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Clinton Orr beloved husband, father, and grandpa, on January 21, 2010 at the age of 82. Clinton grew up, raised his family and enjoyed life in Keewatin prior to moving to Winnipeg in 2005. Remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Tine, his children Clyde (Isabel), Blayne (Irene), Caron (Jeff) Sveistrup, Ralph (Yvette), Sandra (Gary) Netzel; grandchildren Ashley (Graham), Kristy, Kara, Jim, Ria (Brad), Sam, Katy (Randy), Maggie (Beven), Jason, Trevor, Clinton, Schulyer (Amanda), Devin; brothers-in-law Jim Code, Paul and Henry Caron; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Sarah; brothers Duncan and Clyde; sisters Irene (Nick) Shumka and Barbara (Jim) Code; sisters-in-law Therese (Paul) and Leona (Rudy) Caron; and brothers-in-law Rudy Caron and Nick Shumka. Clinton was a conscientious employee at the Keewatin Flour Mill (nine years) and the Kenora Board of Education (36 years). Following his retirement he was a practicing certified locksmith until 2005. For many years Clinton served as a director on the boards of Copperfin Credit Union, Handy Transit and West Kenora Housing. He was dedicated to providing for his family, and to improving his community. Clinton was never happier than time spent with his grandchildren or when tending his gardens. He was well known for his witty sense of humour, his ability to strike up an animate conversation with anyone and his honed debating skills. In keeping with Clinton's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation will be followed by a private family interment. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital.
