CHERYL LEWIN (nee MAINSTER) Family and friends of Cheryl Lewin are deeply saddened by her passing, after a long and complicated illness, on January 19, 2010. Cheryl is survived by Viktor Lewin, her husband of 38 years, daughter Brianne and son Eli, parents Bernice (Bayla) and Laurie Mainster, brother Sam, sister Gail, brother-in-law Harold Gutovich and nephew Jay, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Cheryl was born in Winnipeg on July 2, 1953. She attended I.L. Peretz Folk School, Jefferson Junior High and Garden City Collegiate. Cheryl worked as a Unit Clerk at Seven Oaks Hospital for 27 years, from the first day it opened, mainly in the Emergency Department, and it was under the excellent care of the doctors and staff there that she spent her final months. Funeral services were held at Temple Shalom on January 22 under the direction of Len Udow. Special thanks to the unwavering love and support of dear friend Barb Wilkes, and the excellent doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, especially Drs. Bhanot, Dalling and Rigatto. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honour Cheryl can be made to any branch of the Humane Society of Canada, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, or a charity of your choice. |
