AUDREY MARGARET GLENNIE (published on January 23, 2010)

AUDREY MARGARET GLENNIE (nee Price) December 10, 1923 - January 15, 2010 Peacefully, with her family by her side, our beloved Mom and Grandma passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on January 15, 2010. Audrey will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Ron (Joan), daughters Lorraine (Mike), Shirley (Kerry), and grandchildren Morgan (Gord), Lindsay, Craig, Jeremy, Bryan and Joey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Ralph (1998), mother (Anna), and six sisters and three brothers. Mom was born in Winnipeg and married Dad in 1950. She stayed at home to raise her family and then worked for Warner Lambert in the office for several years, retiring in 1986. Mom was always happiest with family around her. We could not have asked for a more caring, devoted mother. It was because of Mom and Dad's family values that we had a childhood filled with love, warmth and wonderful memories of time spent together. Family vacations (many with her grandchildren) at Detroit Lakes, Florida, Hawaii, car trips, as well as Christmas, family occasions and dinners together, will always hold a special place in our hearts. Mom adored her six grandchildren. She showed a genuine interest in what each one of them were doing, always giving them lots of love and encouragement. Mom always enjoyed going to their sporting events, Christmas Concerts, or whatever activity they were involved in, to lend her support. Mom valued her independence, continuing to live in the family home and drive her car until her recent illness. Her kind and gentle nature will be dearly missed. Thank you to all the staff at Health Sciences Centre GA4 Ward for their kind and compassionate care, with a special thanks to Norma. A private family service was held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, ON 1160675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
