| MARY CECILIA STAROSILEC (nee WILLIAMS) 1919 - 2010 Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, January 25, 2010, Mary passed away at 90 years of age at the Grace Hospital. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Michael and her sister, Marjory. She is survived by her four children, Michael (Linda), Janice (Larry) Hodkinson, Ron (Leslie), all from Winnipeg and Allison Brule of Kenora, ON. She was grandma and baba to ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her brother, John (Elaine) Williams and four nieces and their families. Mom was born in Winnipeg on December 20, 1919 to Sabina and Daniel Williams. She grew up on Selkirk Avenue in the North End and attended Aberdeen School. On November 15, 1939 she married Mike and together they made a home where they raised their four children. They remained together until Dad's passing in 1999. Mom enjoyed all her summers at the cottage in Whytewold Beach with friends and family dropping in for visits and fun times around the card table. She also took great pride in her garden and had the gift of turning the tiniest of seeds into the most beautiful plants. During the Christmas and Easter seasons everyone gathered at Mom's home for delicious meals and wonderful times shared. A Funeral Mass will be said at St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford Street at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 29. Special thanks to the staff at the Charleswood Care Centre where Mom made her home for the past seven years. Also thank you so much to the caring staff at the Grace Hospital for making her last few days here on earth as comfortable as possible. The family gratefully declines flowers.
