LILLIAN MARIE THOMAS (nee HAMRLIK) Peacefully on Sunday, January 24, 2010 Lily passed away at the Arborg Personal Care Home at the age of 96 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, Joyce (Hugh) Barr of Carp, ON, Joan Thomas of Ottawa, Fred (Bunny) of Chilliwack, BC, Arlene Ross of Winnipeg and Dave (Joyce) of Hodgson; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; also sister-in-law Anne Hamrlik of Hodgson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1985, brothers George, John, Edward, Albert, Joe and Jack, and sisters Erma, Clara and Helen. Lily was born February 28, 1913, the fourth child of ten to Elizabeth and John Hamrlik at the family homestead east of Hodgson. She married Bill in 1931 and they farmed together until his passing. She was devoted to her family and generous to her many friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Philip's Anglican Church and Women's Auxiliary and a life member of Hodgson Legion #158. She lived in the Early Settlers Lodge for 17 years before entering the Personal Care Home. The family extends a sincere thank you to all the staff at Arborg Personal Care Home for their kind and compassionate care of Mom. Also, a big thanks to the Fisher Branch Home Care Staff who cared for Mom prior to her entering the Arborg Personal Care Home. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip's Anglican Church, Hodgson, officiated by John Harper. Lunch to follow at the Manitoba Metis Federation Hall in Hodgson. Interment will be at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Hodgson Community Cemetery Fund.
