NORMAN STEPHEN KONEFALL (published on January 27, 2010)

NORMAN STEPHEN KONEFALL It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Norman Konefall on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the young age of 72 years. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia; his son, David; his grandchildren, Jessica and Darius, and great-granddaughter, Sarah; his brother, John Konefall; sister, Jane Campbell and her husband Bruce; cousins, Neil and Claudette Haufek; cousin, Sr. Alice Konefall; Auntie Eileen Kennedy, and many more cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Norm also leaves behind countless associates and friends from his (legendary) 40+ year career as a Manufacturers' Agent, primarily with Cambridge Clothes/The Coppley Apparel Group of Hamilton, ON where he acquired many of his most meaningful life-long relationships. Norm was predeceased by his daughter, Rachel; his father, Stephen Konefall; mother, Elphie Love (nee Rudney); stepfather, Tony Love, and father-in-law, John (Jock) Dunbar. Norm loved spending time with family and friends at his summer home on the lake shore of Ponemah, near Winnipeg Beach, especially with cousin Neil and his grandchildren. He was thrilled that he and his brother, John were able to pursue their dream of building a winter vacation home in Costa Rica. Their many trips to Central America as well as to John's vacation home in Tofino to hunt salmon were especially cherished times with his brother. Norm also never missed the opportunity each June to get together with the boys , Barry, Garry, Garth and Earl for their annual fishing trip. A very special thanks to Dr. Randy Guzman and the many other doctors and staff at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Ignatius Church, 255 Stafford St. at Corydon Avenue with Father MacDougall celebrating the funeral mass. Honorary pallbearers will be his dear friends, Colin Bridges, Bob Cameron, Bruce Eagle, Elwood Flynn, Neil Haufek and Don Love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Norm's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements, 775-2220
