LINDA RAE SIMPER (nee Trott) May 21, 1938 - January 24, 2010 In the morning of Sunday, January 24, 2010, in Vernon, BC, Linda passed away peacefully of lung cancer at the age of 71. Linda is survived by her loving family: her husband, Thomas, to whom she was married for 36 years; daughter Sharon (Jorey) and beloved granddaughter Anna; son Tim; brother Nicholas (Gail); step-children Tom (Joy), Kim, Pam (Daniel), Kerri-Lynn, and Leslie; 13 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; and many other loving family and friends. Daughter of Margaret (nee Semmens) and William Trott, Linda was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. She spent time living in London, UK; Ottawa, ON; Winnipeg, MB; St. Albert, AB; and finally, Vernon, BC. An accomplished and passionate singer, Linda was a member of many choirs over the years, most recently the Counterpoint and Trinity Church choirs in Vernon. She was a dedicated patron of the arts. Linda worked for the Manitoba Theatre Centre, the Canada Council for the Arts and the Centennial Commission of Canada. She served on numerous boards and committees in support of Canadian artists and was particularly involved with North Okanagan Community Concert Association in Vernon. She was also actively involved with Girl Guides of Canada. Linda was a woman of strong faith, deep compassion and unconditional love. In celebration of her life, a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church, 3300 Alexis Park Drive, Vernon, BC. with Reverend Bob Thompson officiating.
