VERA DENISET (published on January 28, 2010)

VERA DENISET (nee WILLIAMS) Peacefully, with her family by her side and in the comfort of her home, Vera Deniset (nee Williams) passed away on January 25, 2010. Mom was predeceased by her husband John (1992) and her only sister, Sylvia Smith (2002). Left to cherish her memory are her children Frank and wife Debby, Robert and wife Cindy, John and wife Teresa, Marguerite and husband Eugene Lambert and Yvette and husband Ken Thoroski; grandchildren Andrea, Michael, Marc, Ian, Nicole, Jenny, Ivan and Lucas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Vera was born on December 15, 1926, to Jenny and Graham Williams, during a blizzard, being delivered by her father. After attending many different schools, Vera became a typing teacher at Success Business College where she met our father, John (Pops) Deniset. They married on August 6, 1949, settled in St. Vital and raised their family. Mom loved life and lived it to the fullest. She also had terrific sense of humour. She traveled extensively, particularly enjoying her winter vacations in Hawaii. She belonged to many different crafting groups/organizations, too numerous to mention, where she enjoyed creating and socializing with all of her crafty friends. Mom especially enjoyed being with her family, always looking forward to the next gathering. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd., Friday, January 29 at 3:00 p.m., with reception to follow. Private interment to take place at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge the incredible staff on the fourth floor of the Victoria General Hospital, the wonderful Palliative Care team and the Home Care workers. Without their encouragement, compassion and support we would never have been able to grant Mom's wish to remain in her home. A special thanks goes to the friends that visited faithfully in the hospital and her home, and to Norma, whose love for Mom went above and beyond their friendship. We would also like to thank all our friends and family who helped us through out this time. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened . Thanks, Mom, we truly have been blessed. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to a charity of their choice. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
