| PHYLLIS JONASSON (TODD) (nee SUTTON) December 5, 1918 - January 26, 2010 Peacefully at West Park Manor our beloved mother, Phyllis, passed away at 91 years of age after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. She will be sadly missed by daughters Betty (Mike), Georgina, Trudy (Ralph), Gerrie (Bob) and Grace (Wayne); step-daughter Paula (Ken); grandchildren Bob (Ellen), Debbie, Cynthia, Shannon (Gordon), Joseph, Donald, Karen, Diane (Danny), Sherry, Scott (Nikki), Crystal (Justin), Derek (Karen), Brett (Brittany), Kendiss (Tim), Joe, Tara (Mike) and Krystelle (Kaycee); 29 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Cathy and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her husbands Skuli Jonasson (2002) and Edward Todd (1975); daughter Elaine; son Ted; grandson Norman; great-granddaughter Samantha; sons-in-law Mac and Doug; brothers and sisters-in-law Eric (Maggie), Frank (Lil) and Henry. Mom's greatest talent was being a mother and a homemaker. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and never failed to be a doting grandmother. She was a great lover of music and dance - spending many wonderful times surrounded by her many close friends. She spent many years in the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service. A celebration of her life, officiated by Pastor Michael Kurtz, will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2010. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at West Park Manor and Dr. O. Bereznay for the great care they provided to her for the past eight years. Flowers are gratefully declined. Charitable donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba. |
