| SOPHIE HAYNY 1925 - 2010 Peacefully on February 1, 2010, at Seven Oaks Hospital, Sophie Hayny beloved wife of Emil passed away at the age of 84 years. Sophie was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Nawroski. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Emil, daughters Karen and Elaine, son-in-law Steve, granddaughters Hayley (Chris) and Stephanie. Sophie was a gentle soul who loved her flower garden and for many years enjoyed spending summers at the lake. Picking blueberries was a favourite pastime, as was cooking and baking. She was renowned for her shortbread tarts! She also enjoyed the physical and social aspects of learning Tai Chi. Sophie took much pride in her various knitting and crocheting projects, but more important to her was spending time with her loving family at outings and get-togethers. Sophie will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Unit 3U7 at Seven Oaks Hospital for the compassion, understanding and care given to Sophie and the family over the past few weeks. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sophie's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice.
