| EDITH MARY MERCIER Edith Mary Mercier (nee Mico) died peacefully on January 28, 2010 at home in Dunedin, New Zealand. Born February 14, 1923 in Winnipeg, MB, Edith went to New Zealand as a war bride in January 1946. Sister of Bill (Olga), Frank (Irene) and Kathleen (Harry). Much loved mother of Fern, Linda, Richard (Barbara) and Rua. Grandmother of Gail, Stephen, Damon, Kali, Claudia, Phoenix, Wistaria, Nova, Rowan, Meredith, and Matai. Great-grandmother of Rata, Fergus, Clara, and one on the way. Loved by many other relatives and friends. She was an intrepid traveller, runner extraordinaire, lover of the great outdoors, and was involved in many community organizations. A service to celebrate Edith's life was held in Dunedin on Saturday, January 30. |
