JOSEPH ANTHONY STOROZINSKI (published on February 06, 2010)

JOSEPH ANTHONY STOROZINSKI July 21, 1937 - January 30, 2010 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Joe passed away January 30, 2010 at the Meadowood Manor with Celina and Jo Anne at his side. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Storozinski and his sister Rose Rozdeba. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Celina, of 42 years, his daughter Jo Anne (John) and his precious granddaughters, Zoe and Phoebe, whom he deeply loved. Remembered by his brother Carl, his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many dedicated friends. Born in Rorketon, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg in 1967 to work at Versatile Manufacturing until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed camping, playing cards and traveling. His granddaughters frequently visited him, filling his days with an incredible amount of pride and joy. In his final days, Dad became our teacher, sharing an abundance of spiritual truths. Dad was a quiet, gentle soul who never complained about his illness nor his loss of independence - he accepted all changes with great courage and dignity. Dad's friendly and kind disposition was evident when staff, friends and family came in droves to visit, to say one final goodbye. Special thanks to those staff of Meadowood Manor who showed much kindness towards him. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Pastor Dave and his wife Darlene who consistently reassured him of the journey ahead. A celebration of his life will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Rd. on Monday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. also at Mary Mother of the Church. Donations may be made to Meadowood Manor, 577 St. Anne's Rd., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2M 5B2. You are my sunshine, my only sunshine You make me happy, when skies are grey...
