VIVIAN DORIS PITURA (published on February 06, 2010)

VIVIAN DORIS PITURA It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Vivian Doris Pitura on February 2, 2010 after her journey with breast cancer. Vivian was predeceased by her children Patti Lynn and Holly Lynn and her father Peter Toderian. Vivian will always be remembered by her mother Lena Toderian, her loving husband Richard Pitura, her children Teri and Rooke, son-in-law Nelson and daughter-in-law Candice. Vivian was a very wonderful grandmother and her grandchildren Matthew, Jessica, Heidi, Jillian, Reid and Sam were special treasures in her life. Vivian was a wonderful sister and her brothers and sisters - Patrick (Lynne), Virginia (Brad), Garry (Susan), Larry and Sheila (Henry) will remember her forever. All her nieces and nephews loved being with Auntie Viv and Auntie Viv made sure that everyone in her family felt like a special person in her life. Vivian was very excited every time a baby was born in our family. Vivian was also loved by her special friends. Vivian had an amazing attitude towards life. She was a very spiritual person and had a great way of making sure she was focusing on the truly important things in life. She was always making sure that everyone was doing well and she always had an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. She loved her time at their cabin at Coli Lake and always welcomed family and friends to spend time at the cabin. There was always room for one or 10 more people at the main cabin or at the sleeping cabin. Vivian was a very talented woman who would make quilts to comfort us, sew anything she could think of, knit, tole paint, decorate special cakes and make pretty much any craft there is. She loved to share her talents and knowledge with friends, family and the kids at school. Vivian also had an amazing sense of humour and loved to think of funny skits complete with the best costumes. Vivian's family would like to thank Marjorie McCrae, her home care nurse, for the support, knowledge and compassion that Marjorie gave to Vivian. Vivian was always telling us how grateful she was to have Marjorie in her life. Thank you also to the medical staff for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Starts for Women (the Red Lake Women's Shelter) or a charity of your choice through Herold Funeral Home The Red Lake Chapel , Box 237, Red Lake, ON P0V 2M0.
