ALFONS LAUDIN (published on February 17, 2010)
ALFONS LAUDIN It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Alfons Laudin on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the age of 78. Alfons is survived by his wife Jeanne, son; Richard (Alanna Palmer), Christopher, Michael, Jason, Deanna, daughter; Brenda (Stuart Cuddy), Nathan, Kyra (Eric Bissonnette), daughter; Susan (Gerald Dyck), Corinne (Don Narine), Eric (Sandra), Carlee (Daniel Rempel), great-grandchildren; Ethan and Evan Narine, Jacob Dyck, son; David (Charlene), Rylan, Calder, Haden, son; Bruce (Vivien Watson), Sarah, Anna, Adam, Emily and Sister Emgard Rausch. He was predeceased by his parents Erich and Minna Laudin. Alfons was born at the Carman Hospital and lived his entire life on the family farm near Brunkild. He attended the local school and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Alfons started taking responsibility for the farm at an early age and got his wish to never have to retire from his life profession. His love of farming was evident in all he did, from attendance at many agriculture events, auction sales and road trips, as well as everyday practices. Over the years his farm expanded from a small homestead to a large, thriving farm business. Alfons participated on the Church Council and Community Hall Board and especially enjoyed his involvement on the building committees of both. He also spent time on the local UGG and Pool elevator boards. His lively discussions with friends, neighbours and relatives demonstrated a strong, confident and stubborn side that never left him. There were no strangers with Alfons. His curiosity, that had no boundaries, created many new relationships. Alfons cared for his family and always encouraged them to do things his way. His grandchildren were not immune to this encouragement and always left him with a hug, kiss or handshake. We would like to extend our thanks to 3rd floor nursing staff of the Grace Hospital and everyone that have supported us through our sudden loss. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com |
