ANTHONY NAHULIAK (published on February 17, 2010)



ANTHONY NAHULIAK August 12, 1940 - February 15, 2010 Peacefully, after a brave battle with cancer Anthony Nahuliak, with his family by his side was welcomed into God's loving arms. Anthony will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Gail, of 46 years; his son Bill (grandson Dillon (Jessica) great-granddaughter Serena, grandson Scott (Dawn); daughter Dixie (Darcy) McCoughan and grandson Joel; brother Daniel; sisters Diana (Ed) Flamand, Virginia (Brian) Moore; sisters-in-law Lucille (Alex) Michalenka, Bonnie (Mark) Boisjolis; brother-in-law Randy Malkowich; also many nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his parents Anthony Sr. and Anne Nahuliak, parents-in-law Bill and Jean Malkowich. Anthony was a life long member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church of Dallas/Red Rose Parish, Dallas, MB. Anthony was born on August 12, 1940 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. He grew up on the family farm in Hodgson, MB. After he completed high school Anthony took his diesel mechanics course in Toronto. In 1964 Anthony married the love of his life, our mother Gail, and they settled on the farm in Hodgson. Anthony loved the farm life. He also worked for the Department of Highways for eight years. He took great pride in landscaping his yard and his huge potato patch, which were in perfect rows . Anthony loved the outdoors, a true nature lover. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Anthony loved God's creatures and treated them with love and respect. Anthony was a loving husband, father, Gege, brother and friend. We will miss him deeply. The family sends special thanks to family and friends during our period of deep sorrow. A very special thanks for their care and compassion towards Anthony during his illness, Alvin Ross for his friendship and compassion, the staff at Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Dr. Boyang, nurses Lori, Gail, Donna and Marilyn, Dr. Nason, Dr. Wang of Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the M.M.F. Hall in Hodgson, MB. Father Harry Chuckry officiating. Cremation according to Anthony's wishes, has taken place. Urn bearers will be grandsons Dillon, Scott, and Joel. Anthony's grandsons were the light of his life. Honourary pallbearers godsons David Hordecki, Dwight Nahuliak, Michael Worth, Michael Grabowski Jr., Charles Moore, special friends Alvin Ross, Clem Perron and Kurt Henry.
