MARGARET ASENATH (MARGIE) POLLOCK (published on February 17, 2010)

MARGARET ASENATH (MARGIE) POLLOCK It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Margie Pollock, on February 12, 2010 at Rock Lake Hospital. Margaret Asenath McKay was born on October 15, 1920 in Pilot Mound. She married Clarence Pollock in 1953 and moved eight miles away to the Pollock family farm, where they spent 22 great years, before retiring back to Pilot Mound. Margie loved the Thursday night Bingo games at the Kinsman Hall, quilting, crossword puzzles and playing along with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on TV. She loved her little church and was a lifetime member of St. John's ACW. Over the years she spent hundreds of hours baking for the annual ACW bazaar. Margie was also a lifetime member of the Pilot Mound Kinette Club. She dearly loved Pilot Mound and its people and she was a passionate supporter of the Millennium Complex. She was so proud when the rest of Canada got to see Pilot Mound's story through all the media coverage around Hockeyville. Margie will be remembered for her love of life, her sense of humour, her outspokenness and of course - her swearing! She always put others' needs before her own and her kindness and generosity will always be remembered. Margie will always be missed by her daughter Bea and her husband Bob Koppes, their children Steve and Laura (Bloomington, MN) and her two sisters Edna McEwen (Brandon) and Kay Maidens (Edmonton), as well as countless nieces and nephews from the McKay and Pollock families. She was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence McGregor in 1997, and by her sister Ruth Crampton and brothers Winram, Frank, Jim, Clarke, Roy, Jack, Mac, and Norman McKay. In accordance with Margie's wishes, no funeral or memorial service was held. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the Pilot Mound Millennium Complex, Box 39, Pilot Mound, MB, R0G 1P0, in Margie's memory.
