VIOLET ALICE ANDREWS (published on February 17, 2010)

VIOLET ALICE ANDREWS Our beautiful mother Violet died peacefully at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg February 13, 2010, just a few days after her 85th birthday. Mother was born in London, England on February 4, 1925. She was predeceased by her husband Marvin, her father Harry and mother Amy, brother Alan, her sister Claire, and great-grandson Jordan. She is survived by her brother Graham and family in Manchester, England. She is also survived by her two sons Barry (Marlene) and David (Monika), three grandsons David (Shelly), Michael and Jason. Also two great-grandsons Jacob and Emjay, and sister-in-law Adele Perrie (Andy) of Vancouver. Mother was a very young war bride and met our dad Marvin in 1944 while he was stationed in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. She married dad there and came to Canada in 1945 where they started their new life in Estevan, Saskatchewan. She moved to Winnipeg with dad, Barry and David in 1964 where she has lived for the last 46 years. Her proudest moments were when Barry and David came into her life in 1948 and 1959. Her happiest were when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were born. She loved them all so much. Mother was a very talented painter and singer and she sold many paintings and also gave many away to her family and best friends. Special thanks to friends, especially Ron and Adele McLaughlin who saw her through these difficult times and to the kind staff at Vista Park Lodge in St. Vital for their care towards our mother. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Manitoba Lung Association or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will take place at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to
