| GILBERT HOWARD GEORGE COOK 1928 - 2010 It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Gil on Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 81 years. Remaining to forever cherish Gil's memory are his wife Fran; children Jeff, Kerry and Pam. He was predeceased by his parents Percy and Lillian Cook and his baby sister. Gil was born in Winnipeg where he lived all his life. He worked for Canada Post for 35 years and later was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels in his early retirement. He was interested in crafts and sold them at different shows in Winnipeg. Gil was an active member of Ness Avenue Baptist Church, Kirkfield Park Baptist Church and most recently Westwood Community Church. On Saturday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. Gil's Funeral Service will be held in the Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 - 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. |
