HILDA S. FORD (published on March 04, 2010)

HILDA S. FORD It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hilda S. Ford on March 1, 2010 at St. Norbert Personal Care Home. Hilda was born June 10, 1934 in Brandon, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Jim; their infant son, Terry; parents, Pat and Jean Brown; her sister Eva; and her brother Harold. She leaves to mourn her passing daughter Heather Heskins (Mike Cohoe); son Jim (Barb); granddaughters Amie (Chris), Taylor; grandsons Kristopher (Laura), A.J.; great-granddaughter Reese and great-grandson Jaxson; Hilda also leaves behind beloved siblings, Alistair Brown (Jackie) of Bonners' Ferry, Idaho; Adelaide Zenk of Brandon, Manitoba and Marina Hromadka of Ajax, Ontario; many nieces and nephews. She was employed by the TD bank for most of her adult life until 1992 when she left on disability until retirement age. Her employment took her to Ottawa for four years and Toronto for six years returning to Winnipeg in 1991. Hilda loved sports, participating in her younger years in baseball, basketball, bowling, curling and golf. Unfortunately in later years, Hilda could not pursue these activities as the onset of M.S. proved restricting. A graveside service will be held to honour Hilda's life, on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Family will be gathering in the garden of The Old Rugged Cross. Honorary Pallbearers: Rod Zenk, Bill Pugh, Kristopher Heskins, AJ Ford, Chris Dyck and Big Tall Ron (MacMillan), by Mom's wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice, with thanks. To all the numerous people whose lives were touched by Mom, please be aware of how much you all enriched Mom's life, individually and collectively. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
