GAIL PERRAS (published on March 06, 2010)

GAIL PERRAS (nee MAGURA) September 29, 1951 February 23, 2010 Leave room in your garden for the angels to dance Gail was granted her angel wings on February 23, 2010 after a brief but intense battle with cancer. Her positive attitude remained strong to the end and her love and concern for close family and friends were selflessly near the top of her thoughts. Gail was born in Winnipeg and attended school there from grade one through twelve. As a child of a military family she loved to travel. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba Gail also resided in Powell River, B.C. for the last twenty years. Early in her career, she worked as a floral designer for many years before owning her own florist shops. Gail was currently employed with the Town Centre Hotel; she enjoyed her job and loved the people she worked with. Gail had many passions in her life that included gardening, home decorating, cooking, candy maker (Fat Cat Fudge) and living by the ocean. Gail will always be remembered for her quick wit, amazing sense of humour and ability to keep everyone laughing. She had created a wonderful family of friends in her life. One of the people nearest and dearest to her was Bob Rourke and the late Anne Rourke of Powell River, BC. Gail was predeceased by her father Walter Magura in September 2009. Gail leaves to cherish her memory her mother Iris (nee Tocher) Magura; her brother Leslie Magura of Powell River, BC; three sisters and their families, Deborah McLaughlin and her sons, Thomas and Matthew; Darlene and John Santos and their daughters, Deidre and Brittaney (Neil Elgner); Wendy and Dean Fischer and their son Leigh; and special family member Richard McLaughlin; and lifelong best friend Gaye Gregorash, as well as very dear friends, Bob Rourke and Jan Crane from Powell River, BC. Also left to cherish her memory are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful support and care given to Gail by her very dear friend Gaye (Janine) Gregorash. We will be forever grateful to you. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to CancerCare for making it possible for Gail to be here with us, her family, during the final months of her life. Thank you to Dr. Hartley, many nurses and caregivers at Grace Hospice who treated Gail with love and dignity. Thank you Elizabeth Payne, from CancerCare for your support to Gail. Cremation has taken place and in respecting Gail's wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gail's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E OV9 ( or to a charity of your choice. God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change Courage to change the things I canand wisdom To know the difference. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949 2200
