ANNE RUPPEL (published on March 10, 2010)

ANNE RUPPEL Anne Ruppel was born to George and Mary Schulteiss on May 3, 1917. She died as she lived, peacefully and with grace, on March 8, 2010. Her strong faith kept her in good stead until the end of her life. Her optimism was infectious and she had the ability to see the best in people. Whether you knew Anne for 45 minutes or 45 years, her warmth and unconditional love drew you to her and you became her friend. Anne was a wonderful cook and baker and there was always room for one more at her table. Knitting and crocheting was her passion. She was a true artist often winning near perfect scores at the Red River Ex. She took great pleasure in making things for family and friends putting her love in every stitch . Anne bowled until age 86, was an avid reader, and did all word puzzles in the daily newspaper right up until her death. She was always up for a game when family and friends came by. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Arthur Emmanuel Ruppel (1999), son Art. L. Ruppel (2000), five sisters and one brother. Left to celebrate her life are daughter Carol Snarr (Jack), son Timothy Ruppel; six grandchildren, Tracey Ruppel, Darcy Pauken (Mike), Timothy Snarr (Jennifer), Jody Kauffman (Jeffrey), Jamie Ruppel, Leah Ruppel and six great-grandchildren, Frances Pauken, Victor Pauken, Nicholas Kauffman, Alexandra Kauffman, Jacquelyn Kauffman and Callum Duffy. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 13, at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd. at 1:00 p.m. Anne's family extends a special thank you to all staff at CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Unit and the staff on 3E, Riverview Health Centre, for their care and compassion.
