DOUGLAS (DOUG) LAWRENCE GILL (published on March 13, 2010)

DOUGLAS (DOUG) LAWRENCE GILL It is with great sorrow that our family announces the sudden passing of our father Doug on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 61 years. Remaining to forever cherish Doug's memory are the love of his life Colleen, wife of 40 years; sons Kevin (Shelley), Jason (Jolaine) and David; grandchildren Jake, Jenna and Janaya; and sister Judy as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great friends. He was predeceased by his parents Carl and Rose, sister Debby; brother Robert, and brother-in-law Vic. Born in Winnipeg on November 10, 1948, Doug grew up as a car enthusiast that lasted a life-time. The two phases of Doug's career were in sales in both the automotive industry and home renovations. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The births of his grandchildren though were Doug's greatest pleasures later on in life. Dad always made sure we knew that the most important thing to him was his family. In compliance with Doug's wishes no formal funeral service will be held. We are honouring our Dad's wishes with a private gathering to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 100 - 1465 Buffalo Place, Winnipeg, MB R3T 1L8. Dad, we will forever miss your guidance, sense of humour, and kind heart that made us the men we are - and to that, we say thank you. The love that you share with mom is the greatest gift you gave us. You will never know how much we love and will miss you. Love your boys. In his straight forward approach, his lasting words to us were I guess that's it. Love Always, Dad .
