CLEMENTINE BEDARD  (published on March 13, 2010)

SISTER CLEMENTINE BEDARD (SISTER ANDRE ST. LOUIS) It is with sorrow filled hearts that the Sisters of the Cross (Filles de la Croix) announce the passing of our dear Sister at Victoria Hospital on March 11, 2010 at the age of 82. Besides the members of her Congregation, she leaves to mourn her brother Joseph; sister Thérèse, p.s.s.f.; sisters-in-law, Pearl (Morrissette), Alice (Plante) and Rose (Poirier), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, Joseph and Marie-Anne Beaudry; brothers, Marcel, Father Louis, Elie, Paul, Albert and Gérard predeceased her. Sister Clémentine was born on August 30, 1927 in St. Boniface. The youngest of the family, she cherished lasting memories of her growing-up in a family with seven big brothers and one sister. This was an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and the many adventures the world of nature had to offer. She enjoyed everything that had life: a robin, a little rabbit, a tiny flower or a sunset. Sister began her formation in 1946, and pronounced her religious vows in 1948. She served in different capacities, fulfilling them with courage and responsibility. She taught music and took on community tasks in our convents of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. However, her cherished mission was that of pastoral care of the sick. Her caring expertise, her welcoming smile and her kind words brought comfort to the people of Estevan, SK, St. Claude and Swan River, MB and Villa Cabrini, Winnipeg. Sister Clémentine will be especially remembered for her prayer life, her Eucharistic devotion, and her missionary spirit. The celebration of 60 years of her religious profession was one of the highlights of the later years of her life. The family and the Sisters wish to thank the staff of the Provincial House and that of Victoria Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Prayers will be held Monday, March 15 at 7:30 p.m. A Eucharistic celebration will be held Tuesday, March 16 at 1:30 p.m., both held in the chapel of the Sisters of the Cross, 66 Moore Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2C4. Interment will follow in the St. Adolphe Cemetery. Leclaire Brothers in charge of arrangements.
