JOYCE (JOY) BRENDA MACGREGOR Peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2010 Joy, passed away at her residence in Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg at the age of 84 years. Joy is survived by her sons Jim (Christine), Hugh (Katherine); granddaughter Kaitlyn; sister Shirley Kenny; brother Gerald Bristow (Carol); numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Margaret Firby and good friend Kay Peleck. She was predeceased by her parents Edna and Ernest LeMarquand; son Robert and husband Jim. Joy was born in Montreal and lived in Chester, NS and Montreal before meeting her husband Jim in Winnipeg. For a time the family lived in Vancouver where her children were born. Having moved back to Winnipeg in the mid 1960s, Joy worked at Peoples' Jewellers, Manitoba Hydro and The Monkey Tree Bookstore. Joy's life, though difficult at times, was certainly interesting and throughout she always looked on the bright side while maintaining a quiet dignity. She loved animals, especially cats and took comfort in their companionship. Joy was an avid reader and was always interested in world events and people. In compliance with Joy's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Middlechurch for their efforts, expertise, care and compassion while Joy was in their care. Special thanks to Tracy and Kaitlan.
