LIYA MALYEYEVA (published on March 20, 2010)

LIYA MALYEYEVA On March 14, 2010, Liya Malyeyeva passed away at Deer Lodge Hospital at the age of 80 years, (January 27, 1930). Liya was born in Russia where she learned tailoring. She enjoyed all aspects of dressmaking and was very skilled at her craft. Predeceased by her husband in 1990, Liya moved to Canada in 1996 and it was there that she learned about Jehovah God and the Bible's promises. Liya became ill in May 2007 and in 2008 became a permanent resident of Deer Lodge Hospital. Having no relatives in Canada, Liya came to see her spiritual brothers and sisters as her family, and was cared for by the congregation. Liya will be missed by her two sons, Sergey and Igor and three grandchildren. Liya looked forward to the resurrection hope stated at John 5:29 where it says ...The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out and to God's promise of a paradise on earth where death, pain and suffering will be no more . (Rev. 21:3, 4). Liya's spiritual family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Hospital who compassionately helped make her last days comfortable. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 937 Gateway Road, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
