| ALLAN FRIESEN Allan Friesen passed away peacefully in hospital in Ste. Anne, MB on March 19, 2010, one week after his 83rd birthday. Allan was born March 11, 1927 and was raised on the family farm south of Langham, SK. He attended church and Sunday School all his life and accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour at an early age. Allan attended Taber Bible School in Dalmeny, SK for one year after which he took over the family dairy farm together with his brother, Bill. After a few years, Allan bought out Bill's share of the farm and continued the dairy on his own. Allan married Beulah Kroeker in 1955 and together they farmed until 1979 when they sold the dairy part of the farm and continued to grain farm until 1997. At this time they moved off the farm into Langham and Darcy moved on to the farm and continued grain farming. During his years in the dairy, he was very involved in the Dairy Herd Improvement Association and received numerous awards for his herd improvement. Allan was also very involved in the church - as an usher, Sunday School Superintendent, Awana director, member of the Church Council, etc. He was predeceased in January 2000 by his wife, Beulah. In May 2004 Allan married Beatrice and they enjoyed six wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; his four children, Valerie (Gordon) Rowland, Priscilla (Ike) Epp, Ruby (Scott) Borody and Darcy (Marilyn) Friesen; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gideons, Camp Kadesh or a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at the Langham Evangelical Bible Church, Langham, SK. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dalmeny Funeral Home. |
