JOHN (JACK) DOUGLAS MCLAREN It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John (Jack) Douglas McLaren on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 90 years. Remaining to forever cherish Jack's memory are his beloved wife of 64 years, Lucille; daughters Wendy (Jim) and Debbie (Roland); son Don; cherished grandchildren Scott (Sandy) and Lindsay (Michael); great-grandchildren Ashleigh and Brooke. He was predeceased by his brothers Jim and Harold. Jack was born November 14, 1919 in Neepawa, Manitoba where he grew up and spent most of his early life. He was a Mason and Master of the Neepawa Masonic Lodge in 1954 and owned and operated the Winnipeg Hearing Aid Centre for almost 30 years. Known for his great sense of humour, Jack's favourite pastimes included playing golf, going for long walks and puttering in the garden. He also enjoyed many years of motor home travel throughout the southern United States with Palm Desert being his favourite destination. On Tuesday, April 6, Jack's Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Westwood Presbyterian Church, 197 Browning Boulevard, with Rev. Peter Bush, presider. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 4G2. |
