PETER MICHALSKY (published on April 08, 2010)
PETER MICHALSKY June 11, 1918 April 6, 2010 After a long, healthy 91 years, a wonderful husband, father, Gigi, and Great Gigi passed away peacefully at Victoria General Hospital. He was born and raised in Senkiw, MB with his sisters Effie, Kay and Ollie; he was predeceased by his brother Bill (2001). Peter and Margaret spent their newly married life in St. Germain and moved their young family to St. Vital where they spent their lives together. Peter and Marge both enjoyed their travels to Hawaii, Texas, Florida and across Canada with friends and family. Known by all as a charmer, Peter was a generous, loving and genuinely kind man. As one of the three musketeers of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, and as an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Peter was always willing to donate his time. The greatest joy in Gigi's life was, without a doubt, his family. From the hockey games to swimming and basketball, Gigi was always our number one fan. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 65 years Margaret (Marge), his children Terry, Stan (Margaret-Anne) and Shirley (Clarke), his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Tannis, Brett (Richelle), Erin (Chris), and Kristyn and his great-grand-daughter Leighton. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend a celebration of life with prayers at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church; 390 Marion St. Interment St. Vital Cemetery. Chrystos Voskres. Never say goodbye, just see you later . |
