GLENN CALLIS (published on April 10, 2010)

GLENN CALLIS January 27, 1933 - March 28, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Glenn will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by Dorothy, his wife of 48 years, sons Don and Greg, daughter Carrie, grandsons Brett, MacKenzie and Nicholas. Glenn also leaves his brothers Ken Callis (Iris) and Ray Dunn, and numerous nieces and nephews. Glenn was predeceased by his father Alfred, mother Mae, brothers Don and Clarence, sisters Beverly, Florence, Ida, Bernice, and dear Auntie Lil. Glenn was born in Winnipeg, MB and spent most of his life there having been in the Insurance Adjustment business for over 50 years. Glenn was always involved with the many athletic pursuits of his children whether it was hockey, baseball, swimming or ringette and spent many a cold morning driving to early morning practice. He greatly enjoyed his time at the lake and was always the ultimate host. Glenn and Dot spent many winters in Venezuela and Mexico where they made many treasured friends. Glenn was always ready for a good game of cards or cribbage with his family and friends or lunch with the boys. One of the greatest joys of Glenn's life was his dearly loved grandsons of whom he was so very proud. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Personal Alternatives Funeral Services, Vernon, BC.
