PHYLLIS PAULINE HOOLE (published on April 10, 2010)

PHYLLIS PAULINE HOOLE (nee BRAWN) Peacefully on Sunday evening, March 28, 2010. Phyllis passed away with her loved ones by her side at the age of 90 years. Remaining to forever cherish Phyllis' memory are her husband Ken; daughter, Linda Jane Parker (Roger) of Upper Marlboro MD; sons Kenneth John (Jana), Jon Allan of Winnipeg, William Joseph of Bangkok, Thailand; four grandchildren, Kent Christopher Hoole (Jane) of Toronto, ON, Sara Faye Hoole of Vancouver, BC, Matthew Hoole of Winnipeg, Michelle Denise Parker of Tampa, FL, Melanie Nicole Parker of Suffolk, VA; eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Tara Lee Hoole. On December 4, 1919 Phyllis was born in Staples Settlement, New Brunswick, to Allan and Jane Brawn. She was the last surviving member of a family of 12 children. She spent her formative years in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Phyllis graduated from St. John General Hospital in May 1943, as a registered nurse. It was around that time that she met a young handsome sailor from Winnipeg and a 66 year journey set sail. They were married in St. John, New Brunswick in 1944. With the war at an end, they returned to Dad's hometown of Winnipeg where they settled to raise a family. Phyllis was a very special person; she was kind, and warm. Her ways were sweet and true. She always saw the good. Her love of nature was pure. A sunset, a beautiful moon in the sky, was something to behold for her. Over the last number of years, Mom had her own special angel to watch over her. Jana's love and tender care cannot be put into words. In compliance with Phyllis's wishes no formal funeral service will take place. A private family gathering is planned at Arosfa on Lake Winnipeg. Life is Brief Love is Forever
