HELEN DORIS HENRICKSON (published on April 10, 2010)

HELEN DORIS HENRICKSON (nee STRANGER) January 25, 1933 - April 7, 2010 It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Henrickson announces her sudden passing at the Selkirk and District General Hospital at the age of 77 years. Helen is survived by her husband Earle, daughter Camille Lewis (Tom), beloved son Todd Stranger. Stepchildren, Laurie (Raymond) Raynaud and Stuart (Jackie) Henrickson. The joys of her life were her very special grandchildren Tanis, Duane (Andrea), Amber (Eric), Aimee, Jordan, Mallory, Katie, Niki, Samantha, Jennifer and Sara. Helen was so very proud to be a great-grandmother to Jory, Dylan, Tristan, Trinity, Téa, Jayden and Destin. Also survived by her sisters Viola Kirchen, Mayme (Willie) Pruden, Phyllis Dowson and their families. Helen was the matriarch of the family and a devoted Auntie to numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who meant the world to her. She kept in touch with many and loved to share in their trials, tribulations and accomplishments. Helen was predeceased by both parents: Walter and Victoria Stranger, special cousin Hazel Flett, sisters Sophie Alexander and Jean Jansen. She most recently suffered the loss of her nephews Gordon Stranger and Calvin (Pruden) Stranger. Helen was left deeply saddened and heartbroken by the great loss of her eldest daughter Naomi Bird in February of this year. Mother and Daughter are now together again as two guardian angels watching over their loved ones. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Neill Stitt officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Cremation will follow. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris, Darren and Desmond Peebles, Garret Laye, Destry Loutit and Trevor Easter. A special thank-you' goes out to all the staff at the Tudor House Personal Care Home. Although Helen had only lived there for a few short months she received the utmost of care and respect. We would like to thank all the girls' for looking after Mom and keeping her company. Thank you to her doctors: Dr. T. Racette, Dr. R. Lindenschmidt and Dr. H. Demsas. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
