ROBERT HOWARD HANKE (published on April 13, 2010)

ROBERT HOWARD HANKE It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Bob on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Maple Hill Hospice, Langley, BC. Bob was born in Winnipeg January 3, 1937 and his early years were spent in Falmouth and Glenella before the family moved to Winnipeg in 1951. He attended Britannia School and St. James Collegiate for his education before joining the work force. After his marriage he and his family moved to Regina, SK and it was here that Bob's love of horses and racing expanded and once they moved to British Columbia his dream of owing horses came true and he spent many happy hours at the track. Bob was a people person and kept in touch with family and friends as his work took him across the Prairies to British Columbia. When Bob retired he moved into Lions Manor in Aldergrove and loved walking the grounds and sitting on his patio. His greatest love was his family, daughters, Kerri (Milt), Tammi (Elvis) and son Shane. Holding a special place in his heart were his grandsons, James, Justin, Jared and Randy and his granddaughter Dominique. He will be truly missed by his sisters Joan (Rod), Judy (Stephen) and brother Ed (Christine) and nephews, Christopher, Nicholas and niece Kim. He was predeceased by his Mother Annie, Father Henry, Brother Dennis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 24 at Lutheran Immanuel Church, Aldergrove, BC. If desired, donations may be made to: Maple Hill Centre, c/o Langley Hospice Society, 20088 - 40th A Ave., Langley, BC V3A 2Y6.
