ANNE DOROTHY SINKARSON (published on April 14, 2010)

ANNE DOROTHY SINKARSON (nee BAHREY) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Anne Dorothy Sinkarson was called Home on April 9, 2010. Remaining to forever cherish Anne's memory are her loving husband Ed, of 53 years of marriage; daughters Debra and Joanne (Loren Dyck); son Brian (Naomi); grandchildren Laura Ashley, David, and Christen; sisters Rosie and Jessie; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends; and her cat Izzy. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Emerich; parents Nick and Stella Bahrey; brothers Billy and Mike. Anne was always full of life from the first day she was born in Meleb, Manitoba on January 12, 1937. She quickly made life-long friends while attending school in Berlow. Growing up on her parents' farm one could say she was her dad's right-hand man between milking cows and watering cattle out of a dug well. She also spent a lot of time on her dad's '44 Massey-Harris tractor in addition to planting and tending a large vegetable garden. In her teen years, she enjoyed dancing and socializing. It was at this time she met Ed, whom she married following a long engagement. After being married one year, Ed persuaded Anne to move to Toronto to seek their fortune. They returned to Winnipeg nine years later with three beautiful children plus their memories of a full social life. Anne, Ed, and their children returned several times to Toronto to relive memories and create new ones with their friends. During Anne's career she worked at large chain department stores as a sales person. Then she spent 16 years at Eaton's Warehouse in the china department from which she retired in 1996. Grandma-Anne lovingly spent every spare moment playing with and baking for her three grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin Street, with Rev. Msgr. Enrique Samson, Jr., presiding. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main Street. Pallbearers will be Debra Sinkarsin, Brian Sinkarsin, Loren Dyck, Freddie Paul Zayik, Casimer Zolinski, and Russ Keeler. Honorary Pallbearer will be Edwin Reichert. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for Anne's care.
