JULIETTE BARTON (published on April 15, 2010)

JULIETTE BARTON It is with sadness, the family of Juliette (Julie) Barton announces the passing of our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma on April 10, 2010. Mom is survived by her devoted children: Louise (Terry), John (Marion) and Gord (Marguerite) as well as nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jack (Pop) who was the love of her life, her sister-in-law Bessie, and her great-granddaughter Sara-Jane. Mom also was predeceased by several of her own siblings. Mom was born in St. Brieux, Saskatchewan after her family emigrated from France. Mom left the family home and moved to Winnipeg to work as a nanny in a Ft. Rouge home. This is where a young grocery delivery boy first saw her, where they fell in love, and their life together began. Mom and Pop were devoted to each other for over 60 years until Pop's passing in 1999. Mom missed him every single day. They are now back in each other's loving arms. Gord, Jack and Louise were proud to have Mom and Pop as parents and role models. We never doubted how much we were loved. What an amazing legacy to leave. Grandma would like to give a special thanks to Rose, Alan, Julia and Eric for their regular' visits that brought so much joy to her. Thank you to Steven, Danielle, Karen and David for always making Grandma laugh. Thank you to Chloe for always making time to visit Grandma when you came into town. Grandma was always so glad to see you. Thank you to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that came to visit and bring joy to her day. Julie also wants to thank Janis for her many years of friendship, laughs and for her visits. Mom wants to give a very special thank you to a very special young friend Alexis for her visits and for sharing baby River with her. Mom adored you both. Mom lived at Golden Links for four years. We are forever thankful for the wonderful care she received there. Mom so appreciated the attention she received, the meals she always bragged about, the extra TLC and friendly manner in the way she was treated. Louise wants to thank all Mom's specials that took her worry away when she knew they were on pink . Please know that Julie's family appreciates each and every one of the Golden Links staff. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for both Mom and Pop will be held on Saturday, April 17, at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. Flowers are gratefully declined, but if you should wish to make a donation in their honour, they would have chosen The Salvation Army or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Come and sit by my side oh my darling, By the one who has loved you so true, Now there's peace in our Red River Valley, I've been waiting so patiently for you. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
