HELEN JEAN ARNOLD (published on April 16, 2010)

HELEN JEAN ARNOLD It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Helen Jean Arnold, (nee Russell) beloved wife of the late Frank Arnold, on April 11, 2010 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg. Although challenged with health problems, Mom loved her family and made the best of the situation. Mom, or as her sisters would call her Helen Jean, is survived by her sons Fred (JoAnne), Gary (Shelly), grand-children, Jeff and Brent, Jeannie and Robbie. Mom is survived by all of her sisters in Atlantic Canada; Peggy, Lena, Dody (Jim), Eileen, Frankie (Gordon) and Betty; her brother-in-law Jerry (Verna), special family friends Ralph, Lucy, Reese, Reanne and many nieces and nephews. Helen grew up in Chatham, New Brunswick, met Dad while he was serving in the R.C.A.F at Chatham and moved to the west leaving behind family and friends. They settled in Oakbank, Manitoba to raise a family and she was a great support to Frank in his business and in the community. Mom was active in the Oakbank United Church, serving in the choir and United Church Women's Group. Mom was active in the Dugald Costume Museum's early years and loved her yard and flowers, golf and travelling with Dad. Her faith and family values resulted in many friends in both the church and community. To remember Mom with family and friends, a service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Oakbank United Church, 582 Balsam Crescent, Oakbank, Manitoba. Time to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakbank United Church or a charity of one's choice.
