LOUISE MACKENZIE (published on April 17, 2010)



LOUISE MACKENZIE (nee SCHMOK) (formerly LITTLE) 1921 - 2010 Suddenly on April 7, 2010 after a lengthy stay in hospital, Louise passed away at the age of 89. She leaves to mourn her son Gary Little, his wife Susan, as well as her daughter-in-law, Diane Little. Louise was a devoted grandmother to Kristy (Matt) and Casey, Leif and Bridget and to her great-granddaughters, Megan and Janelle. She will also be fondly remembered by her stepson Ken MacKenzie Jr. (Dale) and by her step-granddaughter, Lisa (Shane). She was predeceased by her husband Ken (2005) and by her son Duve (1993). Louise was a generous and thoughtful person who included many nieces, nephews and others such as Chris, Todd, and Lindsay Little into her extended family. Louise was born to Rheinold and Ida Schmok and she was raised in Winnipeg along with her twin brothers Albert and Karl. She worked at McCormick's for many years and later on she worked alongside her husband at the Crow Duck Lake Camp. She had many fond memories of living and working in the Whiteshell. Louise was a fun-loving, sociable, independent woman who took pride in her appearance. She loved all animals, especially dogs. The family would like to thank all the staff and residents of Kiwanis Chateau who befriended her during these past five years. A special thanks is sent to her two good friends Odette and Nelson. In accordance with Louise's request, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. If you so wish, a donation can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Manitoba or to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Forever gone Always remembered
