HARRY BERTRAM (BERT) BUTLER (published on April 17, 2010)

HARRY BERTRAM (BERT) BUTLER It is with great sadness that the family of Bert Butler announces his passing on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, BC. Bert has peacefully joined Ada, his wife of 64 years, who predeceased him in October 2008. He will be remembered with love by their children Larry (Connie) and Dianne (Brant). Grandpa will be sadly missed by Clint (Jaimie), Curtis (Dawn), Jessica (Troy), Krista (Andrew), Alissa (Arron), Brittany and great-grandchildren Jose, Carter, Cloe, Josh, Gracie, Sarah, and, Ewan. Dad was born January 11, 1917 in Truax, SK. They moved off the farm to Winnipeg in 1924 where he attended Greenway, General Wolfe, and Daniel McIntyre schools, where he met Ada, whom he wed on May 6, 1942. He was employed by MacDonald Brothers Aircraft and Bristol from 1941 to 1982. An event he attended regularly upon retirement was the retiree's monthly breakfasts. Upon his retirement he was very active in the English Springer Spaniel Club of which he was an honoree life member. He also was a life member of the Edmonton club. A very proud achievement was his 50 year award for membership in the Windsor Masonic Lodge. He was a devoted wood carver and spent numerous hours at this hobby. The family would like to invite friends and acquaintances to a celebration of life for Ada and Bert at the club house of Country Villas, 101 Country Club Circle in Birds Hill on Tuesday, April 27 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
