FREDERICK DEARDEN (published on April 19, 2010)

FREDERICK DEARDEN Early on April 13, 2010, Fred passed away quietly at Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. During his life, since the age of two, he resided in West Kildonan, until his sudden demise. Fred is survived by his wife Violet and son Robert. In 1942, he enlisted in the Canadian Army, and was eventually placed in the Medical Corp before serving overseas. During the war he served in England, Italy and lastly in Holland. After his military service he was employed at J. M. Sinclair Wholesale for about 10 years. While at J. M. Sinclair, he met Violet Slom, and they married in September 1950. During 1958, be began a new direction in life when he started employment with Canada Post as a letter carrier. He retired in 1985, after 27 years of dedicated service to the people he became acquainted with on his routes. His personal life he enjoyed watching major sports, gardening, bowling, occasional vacations to parts of Canada, and the United States and being helpful to his neighbours and son.
