JOANNE KIM PEDERSEN (published on April 24, 2010)

JOANNE KIM PEDERSEN March 28, 1962 - April 22, 2010 It is with very heavy hearts and with a deep and profound grief that the family of Kim Pedersen announce her very sudden passing with her loving family by her side. Kim was predeceased by her father, Anker Pedersen. Left to mourn Kim's passing are her mother Lorraine Pedersen, her sister Suzanne Helmich (Ben), brother Darryl Pedersen (Donna), sister Tara Richardson (Darcy), nephew Aaron Frederickson (Cheryl), niece Carmen Gregoire (Maurice), nieces Lorissa Helmich and Kristina Pedersen, and nephew Kurt Pedersen, as well as nine great-nieces and nephews. Kim started her lifelong journey in making her commitment to give her heart and her life to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in 1987 and found happiness and complete fulfillment in her walk with the Lord. Music was one of Kim's greatest joys and gifts. She began her life as a born again Christian just playing the piano occasionally in church on Sunday, which slowly developed into Kim being the primary pianist and music director in church - a position she loved and cherished. She also found so much satisfaction when she accompanied her dad on the piano while he sang in church and developed his music ministry. As well, some of Kim's most cherished moments were those she spent practicing and singing with her two sisters, who came to be known as Anker's Daughters , as they carried on the legacy of their father's music ministry. Kim started working at the Workers' Compensation Board, 18 years ago, a position she loved. Kim slowly worked very diligently to advance her position with WCB and with Kim's gentle spirit, loyalty, dedication and sense of humour, Kim gained the respect and admiration of her co-workers and a very deep and abiding love of those co-workers closest to her who eventually became her very dearest friends. Kim was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and aunt. Kim has gone home to be with the Lord she loved so much and to make music in heaven with her dad. Kimmy, we all love you so much and your passing has left a huge and gaping hole in our lives. You will forever be in our hearts. Kim's family would like to thank the medical staff and paramedics of the Stonewall and District Health Centre and the doctors and nurses at M.I.C.U. of the Health Sciences Centre, with a very special and heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Julien Regehr for his professionalism, warmth, compassion and the special time he spent with our family. Pallbearers will be Aaron Frederickson, Kurt Pedersen, Todd Demers, Maurice Gregoire, Jeff Knapp and Jordan Wares. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Wares, Earl Irving, Greg Wyatt, Harry Waluk, Don Latta, Mark Grindey and Ken York. Prayers and viewing will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Thursday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Stonewall Christian Assembly on Friday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. Lunch will follow the service at the church. Interment will take place at the Stony Mountain Cemetery following lunch. Pastor Bruce Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kim's name to the Stonewall Christian Assembly.
