WILLIAM (BILL) DREW (published on April 27, 2010)

WILLIAM (BILL) DREW 1923 - 2010 On April 23, 2010 the suffering ended for our loved one. Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Catherine; his daughter Muriel Rougeau (Rennie), grandchildren Kyle, Cory (Sharlene), great-grandchildren Shayla and Rylan; his daughter Shirley Hunter, grandchildren Dana (Brad), Tracy (Jason) and great-grandchild Ashley; his son William (Susan); as well as his sisters, Jean Muirhead and Thomasina Douglas and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Janet, brother Geordie and grandparents. Bill served in the Second World War with the South Saskatchewan Regiment. After returning from active duty, he married the love of his life and worked at various car dealerships in Winnipeg where he achieved the Master Car Salesman Award many times. He was a Chrysler man and especially enjoyed his working relationship at Eastern Sales. Upon retiring he supported his family, community and neighbours helping whenever he could. He enjoyed his breakfast get-togethers with the boys and friends at the Salisbury House. He was especially honoured on his 82nd birthday in the Year of The Veterans with a celebration including a Poppy birthday cake. The family gives our heartfelt thanks to the caring and loving support shown at the Golden Door Geriatrics Centre, and would also like to thank Christine of 5N at the Victoria Hospital for her special care and watching the old time movies with him. A celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. A long time supporter of the War Amps and animal causes, in lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald Street 253-5086
