JUSTIN (JUS) ROBERT (published on May 25, 2010)

JUSTIN (JUS) ROBERT It is with resignation and great sadness that we announce the passing of our eldest son, Justin, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He returned to the Father on May 21, 2010. He was 18 years of age. He leaves to mourn his passing: his mom Lynne (née Grégoire), his dad Gérald, his 10 year old brother Riel, grandparents, countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Justin joins his grandmother Hélène (née Lapointe) Robert in Eternal Life. Justin was a wonderful son throughout, never failing to participate wholeheartedly in family and community activities/outings. He was a hard worker, witty, loved to laugh, playfully tease his younger brother (whom he adored), play sports, loved his country music and was totally comfortable and well-liked by people of all ages. Justin had an innate way of entering peoples' lives when they needed him the most... For me, Mama Bear', Justin grew up much too fast and I was so-not-ready to see my little boy mature so quickly: the move to high school, the car, the need for independence, the first speeding ticket! During his illness, Justin and I built an amazing relationship. We spent many hours together pondering life. Having walked with him, every step of the way with enduring love gives me great peace and comfort. For me Papa Bear', my two sons are the apple-of-my-eye. I will always remember Justin playing hockey, volleyball, driving his prized car, camping, spending time at the cottage, fishing, having friends over, snowmobiling and helping on the farm. Justin's goal was to be an officer of the law. That dream came true when he became an honorary member of the RCMP in April of 2010. Level headed and fair are qualities that would have taken him far in this career. Our son Justin is a proud graduate of l'Ecole Ste Agathe and of le Collège régional Gabrielle-Roy. We are grateful to the educators who had a positive influence on our son, especially during his adolescent years. Justin thoroughly enjoyed his education and spoke with respect about many of his teachers. His greatest love was in the area of sports, especially hockey and volleyball and hanging out with his friends. Justin held his head up high throughout his illness, never complaining accepting with resignation and always cooperating. He participated enthusiastically in learning brail and practicing to use the white cane, the whole while never losing his sense of humour. You could say he lived his life as an exclamation, not an explanation. We would like to express our appreciation to the multitude of caring people who were part of TEAM JUS , in particular parents, immediate and extended family and friends. In the last 16 months, there have been many of Justin's dreams realized. To all who have made these happen, know that you made a difference. We would especially like to thank Jus' amazing friends. Keep his legacy alive; Stay Strong! Never Surrender! To the nurses and doctors who treated Justin and our family with compassion and professionalism, a heartfelt Thank You! We gratefully decline flowers. It is our wish to establish the Justin Robert Education Foundation to benefit programs and students at l'Ecole Ste-Agathe and at le Collège Régional Gabrielle-Roy. Donations may be sent to Francofonds Fond Commémoratif Justin Robert at 605 rue Des Meurons, pièce 202, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2R1. Thank you for your support in memory of our son. Lynne and Gérald Bye Jus. When I get there, we'll do karaoke again. Miss you lots my big bro!
