| JOYCE ANDERSON (nee ZAKUS) Peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2010, Joyce passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her husband James Anderson, son Jim Anderson, daughter Susan (Donald) Campbell and grandson, Seamus, as well as her sister Gloria Zakus of Denver, CO and brother Paul Zakus, his wife Peggy Zakus of Victoria, BC and their children Matthew Zakus, Joanna Zakus and Kathryn Zakus, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Joyce was predeceased by her mother Severine Zakus and her father Dr. Paul Zakus. Joyce was always an outstanding athlete winning numerous awards for her athletic abilities. Joyce enjoyed bowling, curling and had a passion for golf, being a member of Breezy Bend Country Club for many years and often traveling to play different courses in both Canada and the United States. She loved to entertain, was a fantastic cook and was known for her outstanding desserts. She was an avid bridge player playing in many bridge clubs. Joyce loved to work because of the great colleagues and friends she made at the Forensic Psychiatric Department at the Health Sciences Centre. Joyce was a loving wife, mother and a doting grandmother to her grandson. The family would like to thank Dr. St. Goddard and his team at the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their excellent and compassionate care in Joyce's last few weeks and months. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4 or St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Memorial service will be held at Westwood Presbyterian Church, 197 Browning Boulevard, on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by a family held reception.
