MARJORIE GERTRUDE ROSS 1919 - 2010 It is with sorrow the friends of Marjorie announce her passing on May 24, 2010. Marjorie was born in 1919 in Isle of Wight, England. She was the only child of Thomas and Barbara (Avery) Payne. At the age of four the family moved to Brantford, Ontario. Marjorie is survived by Angela and Cyril Arney (Holly, Aidan), Colin and Gillian Arney (Katherine), Lucy Durocher (Daniel and Chloe), Helen Arney, Shirley and Roger Ashton (David and Debbie), Christine Thornton, David and Janet Ross and family. Marjorie's career led her to work in Germany. Luxemburg was a favourite destination and she loved trips back to Germany and England to visit with family and friends. She married William D. Ross in 1965. Douglas predeceased Marjorie in 1989. She will be truly missed by her best friend and companion, Cyber. Marjorie was a member of The Writer's Club and was pleased to have two of her articles published in The Winnipeg Free Press, Seniors Today and Western Magazine. While living at The Westhaven she took on the chore of looking after the library. It was very hard for her to leave her home there, and she tried valiantly to keep herself strong. A special thank you to the friends and cousins that have been so kind and helped her along the way. She was truly grateful. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Donations can be made in memory of Marjorie to The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3K 0Y1. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949 - 2200 nbardal.mb.ca |
