WENDY ANN CORMIER (published on May 29, 2010)

WENDY ANN CORMIER October 11, 1953 - February 5, 2010 Peacefully, and with dignity on February 5, 2010, Wendy Ann Cormier passed from this life. She died as she lived - on her terms, and surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was predeceased by her father Lloyd in 1995 and her loving husband Ray in 2007. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Bewick, her brother David, wife Susan and family, as well as many relatives and close friends. Wendy grew up in West Kildonan, and other than a year in Nova Scotia, spent her life here in Winnipeg. She worked for many years for Dr. Mark Buettner, and she treasured her relationship with both he and his wife Joy, and the staff at Tuxedo Dental Concepts. She and Ray loved their home, and enjoyed entertaining. Many will fondly recall the basement parties , with an eclectic group of people, great food, and live music. Wendy was a wonderful cook, using fresh, wholesome ingredients creatively, to the delight of those who ate at her table. She loved to garden, and had many bumper crops, which she turned into fabulous meals. She was a fast friend, maintaining many lifelong friendships. She was a generous and loving daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. She left this life far too soon, and she will be missed. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Palliative Care for their wonderful care during Wendy's illness. A memorial service to honour her life will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 155 Bannerman Avenue. Reception to follow in the lower fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Winnipeg, Tabernacle Baptist Church or charity of your choice.
