EDWARD LOUIS BEAUDRY (published on May 29, 2010)



EDWARD LOUIS BEAUDRY Peacefully, on Thursday, May 20, 2010, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Dad passed away at the age of 86. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Anne Marie, their children, Therese Gunn, Rene (Ginette), Leon (Dianne), Claude (Jaye), Louise (Jim Strachan) and Angela, his 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Rosaire (Lorraine), sisters, Marguerite Boisinot, Alice (Leo Bremeault), in-laws, Louis (Anne), Alphonse, Therese and Jeanne. He was predeceased by his infant son, Louis, parents, three brothers, and sons-in-law, Michael and Bruce. Born in South Junction, Manitoba on July 24, 1923 to parents, Denis and Marie. Dad proudly served in the Norwegian Merchant Marines during the war, returning home to marry Anne Marie in August of 1946 in South Junction where they began raising their six children. He began working for CN Rail in 1959. They moved to Redditt, Ontario in 1964 where they remained for the next 24 years. He retired as a Roadmaster in 1982 and often reminisced of his days on the railway. Dad enjoyed fishing, gardening, and keeping very active, especially enjoying sharing his bounty of vegetables with his family and friends. He was a member of Merchant Navy Association, Royal Canadian Legion # 82, Redditt and The Knights of Columbus in Lorette. An important part of Dad's life was his faith and he showed devotion to St. Christopher. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff of the Emergency Dept. and Unit 6E of the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics, friends and neighbours of Kiwanis Manor and all who dropped by to visit Dad. Cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held in South Junction. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface Research Foundation or the charity of your choice.
