TIMOTHY CRAIG EATON (published on June 03, 2010)

TIMOTHY CRAIG EATON 1940 - 2010 Peacefully on Monday, May 31, 2010, Timothy Craig Eaton of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away. He is survived by his daughter Lisa and her husband Anthony Loewen, their children Jared and Ryland; his son Blair and his wife Barbara, and their child Brady; and his sister Nancy. He was predeceased by his father Gilbert and mother Marjorie. Timothy was born and lived his entire life in Winnipeg, a fact for which he was very proud of. His early years were spent attending Ravenscourt School, where he forged many relationships that continued to even his last days. His latter school years were spent attending St. Andrews College in Toronto, ON. During these years he spent significant time with his Aunt Florence and Uncle Frank, two very special people who had a life-long influence on him as did his grandfather Joseph Maston Pop-Pop from Wilmington Delaware. He continued grade school at Kelvin High School in Winnipeg and concluded his post-secondary education at Arizona State University. He spent some years with the T. Eaton Company in Winnipeg. His fondest memories were of the Etonian friends and loved to tell stories of his times with them. Tim forged onward with his career and moved onto new opportunities. He owned and operated his own company called Bee Line Distributors Ltd., and then settled into a 20 year career consulting with Inter City Gas. He had a passion for propane and its applications, as well as being a respected source of knowledge. Tim had a love of dogs. They were constant companions through all his years. So many great and loyal friends had come and gone. His last was Sam Sammy Boy a border collie like no other, who lived up to the saying of Man's Best Friend . If he wasn't working, his focus was often his family. When his kids were younger, summers were spent packing up the station wagon and heading out on many adventures, with Key Biscayne, Florida being the most popular destination. When the kids were too old for that kind of stuff , summers were spent at the family cottage in Clearwater Bay, Ontario. He seemed to know the lake like no other; long boat rides were his specialty exploring to the most remote parts of Lake of the Woods - no map necessary. Dad spent the last years of his life in an inspiring and courageous battle against cancer. The family would like to thank all those who took a genuine interest in our father and went above and beyond - doctors, nurses, aids, caregivers, housekeepers and special friends. All of you are unsung heroes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim's memory to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 3R2. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive. We love you and miss you. You are an inspiration and a hero to us! xxx ooo Chapel Lawn 885-9715
