KEUNG KONG (published on June 03, 2010)



KEUNG KONG Peacefully on May 31, 2010 at the Poseidon Care Centre, Keung Kong passed away at the age of 98 years. Keung was predeceased by his beloved wife Sun Oi Yuen Kong in 2007. He will be lovingly remembered by son Chun Kau (Cecilia) and granddaughters Anne (Craig), Betty and Cindy (Lance); son Linco (Linda), and grandson Anthony (Angela) with great-grandchildren Kevin, Vincent and Kailey and granddaughter Becky (Fermin); son Tao (Kitty) and granddaughter Nichele (Eddie); and granddaughter Isabelle; and youngest son, Ching (Shuk Man) and grandson Alex. Keung Kong was born in China on May 29, 1912. He married Sun Oi Yuen in a traditional arranged marriage. They had four sons Chun Kau, Linco, Tao and Ching. Keung and Sun Oi relocated to Grandview, Manitoba to help care for Chun Kau's three children. They still visited Hong Kong frequently and travelled to Columbia to visit Ching in the 1980s. In 1992, Keung and Sun Oi moved to Winnipeg to live with their granddaughters. Since 2005, Keung has lived at Poseidon Personal Care Center. Keung and Sun Oi were members of the Chinese Alliance Church and met many wonderful friends there. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (South of the Royal Canadian Mint). Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends may make a donation in memory of Keung to the Chinese Alliance Church.
